What's Happening at Barnwell?

Barnwell Walk for VeteransBarnwell Students Walk for Veterans
Barnwell students and staff walked around the track to raise money for veterans in honor of Veterans Day. Due to the thoughtfulness and generosity of the students at Barnwell, $1700 was raised for the Honor Flight Program to show their appreciation of veterans.

Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. We transport our heroes to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials.

One of the main focuses of any teacher is to make students think. Encouraging them to use their creativity and imagination to solve problems, or to just make common things better, is important to every teacher. Students at Barnwell Middle School, part of the Francis Howell School District (FHSD), used their creativity to make something better at their school – something they’ll always be able to remember. Their yearbook cover, and its theme of “Be a Hero,” was chosen to be included in a new book called Ideas that Fly.
STEM jobs continue to be in high demand. To help energize students about science, technology, engineering and math, Boeing brought its Innovation Footprint to Barnwell Middle School.
