Learning Commons Book Collection Guidelines

FHSD Learning Commons have a broad selection of books, in print and online, available for checkout. You may see what we have to offer by clicking on the ‘Learning Commons’ tab on Barnwell's web page and then select ‘Find a Book’. Universal Search (Follett), our library management system, will allow you to search the collection by entering specific book titles, authors, or subjects. All formats (ebook, audio and paper) books will be displayed at the same time. Students may access the system using the same credentials they use at school to log onto a school computer. Most usernames and passwords follow this format:
Login: first initial last name last 3 digits of ID#
example: gmurphy###
Password: Fhsd student six digit ID number
example: Fhsd######

We hope you will find that Barnwell's collection offers engaging choices that will foster a love of reading in your child. If you have questions or concerns regarding specific items in the collection, feel free to contact Mrs. Murphy.

Please note:  Our collection is created to meet the needs of a wide variety of readers at various maturity levels. Therefore, books designated as appropriate for Young Adult readers due to more mature content will have a YA sticker on the spine. The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) of the American Library Assoc.(ALA) defines a 'young adult' as someone between the ages of twelve and eighteen.
